BigBadWolf says: If you do this kind of MORONIC, IDIOTIC, SUPERBLY STUPID kind of thing... ugh, let me not go any further. I knew a girl in college who would read books while driving. I do it. With experience you don't even have to look at your phone while texting. You use one hand and only need to look at your phone when you receive a message. As with anything, an experienced driver can know when it is safe to do these sort of things. If you are a new driver and you are stupid; then yes, you are going to have problems. So hey, don't judge people just because some girl was too irresponsible to be safe on the road. Even while not looking at the phone, a certain part of your awareness is still occupied on something other than the road. Still irresponsible. How can those families hear the words "text messaging" again? Another reason for kids to wait until 18 to get their driver's license. Many of them are too preoccupied with nonsense to take DRIVING seriously. I've heard that people who drive the autobahn(Speed unlimited) take their privilege & right seriously & don't by & large do these kinds of things. Can you imagine trying to do anything else at 150-200 mph than keep your mind on your driving? Maybe we need to increase the speed limit & loose the signs. LOL I text and read books/magazines/newspapers. Sometimes I even take a quick nap. Or light my pipe. I guess I'm a moron. I do take into account the driving conditions, however, and realize when I need to put stuff down. I think this is so bad, too. I never text and drive. I never even read texts when I'm driving. There really are enough ways to get distracted as it is. |
