Clip of the day. POP!

I didn't know he was on holidays the August before 9/11.
I wonder who's suggestion that was. Makes me think that they wanted him out of the way. You can't talk if you didn't know what was going on. He may escape criminal proceedings, but nothing will stop him being judged by history, and the consequences of Foreign policy. Too many of the things that were traditionally 'Privileged Information' are being hoisted up the flagpole. There are cameras everywhere, but most of them are on peoples phones.

Maybe he wanted to do the planing of the skulduggery outside the walls of the White House.

pokkets - yes, he was on vacation the entire month right before the attacks. It was during that vacation that he was presented with the Presidential Daily Briefing entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike Within US," which stated that, well, Bin Laden was determined to make a strike against the US *in* the US and - among other possible methods - said that he might use hijackings as part of this attack.

Of course, later we were told that no one could have anticipated he'd use hijacked jets as weapons, so there wasn't any way to prevent this, but they didn't need to know that he was planning to use the planes as weapons to stop his followers from hijacking them. Even if all you thought was...

I think he spent that month with the Bin Laden family
making sure they would feel welcome and protected
no matter what their kid did.

•In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their jobs.
•I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history.
I can Vouch for these

ok, you guys do understand that "He" doesn't make any of these decisions alone right? And everybody (70% of the population) was thrilled to go to war to get revenge for 911. Because at the time every one was pissed off. Now that we have been there a while and we couldn't just sweep in in a week and clean things up everybody blames the figure head for everything. You need to make sure to place a lot of the blame where it belongs, on each and every one of us, we elected (and yes if you didn't vote it as much your fault as anyone) local government and representatives that in turn cast votes based on population density that elect our leaders. But when it really comes down to it whom ever is in o...

Yeah right! The american people have only elected a President. Not a hell-bent idiotic moron (intended pleonasm) who would send all their sons to a war for oil and let their daughters get rapped (and sued for it in case they'd report it) and cut credits to the veterans and disregard any common sense in how to lead a country, spy on its own people and lock anyone in jail under any suspicion because of a darn dictatorial "Patriot Act". No, I'm not sure the american people have "decided" any of that. And I'm not an American.

Personally, I like the fact that they will track down people who do suspicious things, it SHOULD throw up a red flag when someone who is not a farmer buys a ton of fertalizer or a non citizen is taking flying lessons or buying firearms. If they are legit they have nothing to worry about. And I don't give a crap if the government is listening in on my phone calls or reading my emails because I live by the rules that allow a civilized society to function. I don't do things that would red flag the government and I live a very happy and fulfilled life. I speak my mind express my views and enjoy the freedoms bought by the blood, sweat and tears of Americans (including many of my own family) throughout our history.

I quote burndata0:
"... we elected (and yes if you didn't vote it as much your fault as anyone) ..."

I wasn't allowed to vote; I was under 18.

It's all my fault.

OK, wtyerogers, you get to blame you parents the rest of us have only ourselves to blame.

Pretty pointless. Not only was he re-elected ( or at least elected once ), he'll be gone next year anyway

The whole thing about blame is that pointing one finger often results in 3 other fingers pointing back at yourself.

Spilt milk, water under bridge, that kind of stuff

Who but yourself can you blame for your own life decisions?

It's a great trick. Politicians get elected with exorbitant PR machinery and computerized ballots. Do what they like. It blows up in their face, and they start talking about freedom, and Democracy and the privilege to vote. Tell the people that they were only getting what they wanted, then change the subject. Preferable to something that excludes them entirely.
