This reminded me the legendary (and controversial) book of the '70s, "The Secret Life of Plants".

Does this bolster the Swiss contention that plants have dignity?

oh sure, plants are complicated critters. they've certainly got plenty of genes available, so you know they've got a lot of functions going. they have all kinds of responses to various diseases, insect attacks, ways to counter competitive plants, etc. we've barely scratched the surface.

(no nervous system, though! it's all more or less automatic. works fine for them; a nervous system doesn't seem to add anything to your life unless you have muscles you need to control)

Deepti: No, haven't watched it yet. I'm not a fan of Shyamalan movies but I want to see this one.

Lifestar: Thank you!

Mousie: Watch your cholesterol and beware bacon's revenge.

Deepti and Invictus, I usually like his movies, but The Happening had something wrong with it. I thought it was the acting (as Deepti mentioned) but I decided it was the direction. All the actors are pretty good, so they must have been directed to act so badly. I guess the script could have been better too.

Ah, Invictus, don't waste your precious time on this one, even if the plot is intriguing.
