You forget, that according to the Religious Right, it still is Yesterday... and it always will be. I bet if it was a national day for homosexuals or other left wing holiday, you all would be singing a different song. also, tradition demands that the president appear in public giving the finger to Islam, because otherwise how can we good American Christians silence the ever-nagging doubts within our souls? does it ever occur to the self-proclaimed Good Christians that every time the US proclaims itself a Christian country, refers to a Crusade, or makes some sort of inflammatory comment about "Islamic terrorism" or the like, it just convinces a bunch more people to grab a gun and go out to shoot an American soldier, to defend their religion from what they honestly believe is an attempt to smash it? On a related note, we see that the largest Islamic country in the world, Indonesia, delivered a devast... Gz, that is a very smart insight - about tsunami aid - I hadn't thought of it. I know feelings in Pakistan after US aid to earthquake victims there was hugely changed - but that change has been squandered by continued killing of Pakistani civilians. jay8 - I would certainly hope not. For a president to do what most before him have done ought to be a non-issue. This one would be if Shirley Dobson and the NDP hadn't misunderstood - or distorted - the truth. Obama praying privately? Hey, if we want Obama to show his faith publicly, I've got a great way for him to do it. How about he invoke a federal ban on Capital Punishment? That's certainly living the "Thou Shalt Not Kill" Commandment that the hypocrite "Christians" like to tout. That's like observing the NDP times 1000.
