At least the Kurds are trying to move forward. Esp now that Saddam is gone. Something like this wouldn't have happened if he were still in power, rest assured.

Thats one way to look at it. Another way would be to see that this does not help Iraqi unity (what little of it exist). This will weaken the central goverment (another oxymoron) and encourage the Shiite's to do the same, leaving the Sunnis in the middle and splitting the nation in three.

I'm with 'real' on this. Go Kurds. Perhaps their advancements will motivate the rest of Iraq's government to follow suit. While our surge is moving forward, the government there has been stuck within it's old bickering.
There's plenty of countries waiting to buy their oil and hopefully, give them (Kurds) some prosperity and stability for their people.

Yeah, I'm sure Turkey is going to love this. I guess it's all part of the war paying for itself, right?
