It's easy to only read the *current* take on the PA/Israeli conflict. 1967 was a defining moment for the much smaller state of Israel.

Could it be because the occupation of West Jerusalem and Gaza started after the Six Day War. Yes there was a time that Israel could claim the mantle of the little kingdom in a sea of hostile nations, outnumbered and out gunned. That is not the case today.

Do you listen to yourself? Syria, Iran, PA and all their proxies are not hostile? All these terrorist don't outnumber those 'dirty jews'? Lucky the Israelis have a couple of nukes b/c anyone who isn't such a tool knows the muslims have more bullets and tanks.

Yes I do "listen to myself" and I did not make an anti-semitic remark, unless you find valid criticism of a country's policies to be inherently anti-semitic. Second, Iran is at least three countries and a small sea away from
Israel with little or no ways of attacking Israel by conventional means (and even its proxies can only hurl a few rockets into northern Israel). Syria's armed forces have degraded significantly and even in tanks their nearly outnumbered by the IDF nearly 2:1, in advanced fighters more like 3:1 (with the best air-to-air missiles and pilots in the world) and very low levels of readiness.

Both Jordan and Egypt (the last the most dangerous of Israel past enemies) are now s...

And I assume that you are referring to Israeli air strikes. How can you criticize these (though none recently I believe) when you consider the find of evil that is going on in Gaza right now? It didn't just begin; it's been there all along. Only now it's against each other. It gives me the image of a pack of dogs, who in their fighting frenzy, turn and bite everything in sight.

I can not foresee Hamas, Fatah, or Hezbolla taking "a full measure of their responsibilities" and stopping the bloodshed. Iran is behind all of this as it's leadership expands it's control and influence through Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah. Someone mentioned "imperialism" here at clipmarks the other day. Well, the Persians are moving again.

These things happen for a reason, in part the failure to recognize the last Palestinian elections has led to the fighting today (and bombings continue, there where some earlier this week and last week, plus kidnappings of Palestinian officials IDF forces). Do I approve of whats going on, of course not, but simply characterizing people as a "pack of wild dogs" obscures the underlying realities of the situation, which are cruel but certainly have their own logic.

As for the Iranians, where are they marching to, when they are hemmed on all sides by hostile nations? The most friendly nation in the region to them is the current Iraqi government and they are just barely holding on.

Ok, that does it. The Iranians "are hemmed on all sides by hostile nations...". That speaks volumes to me. Done with this train of thought.

Great analogy!

From the point of view of the Iranians they have American forces East and West of them, non friendlies across the Gulf (which are American allies) and even Russia has invaded Iran during the last century. So from their point of view they are hemmed in.

Of course that would require you to see things from somebody else point of view rather than label them in a simplistic and shallow matter. And that says a lot about you.

What kind of a point is that but to justify the occupation.

Give you any clues as to reasons for incursion into the middle east ? After 9/11, 30+ yrs. of mullah funded and bacaked attacks, and a selection of various threats to the western world's oil markets.
