I, for one, would enjoy it. Two whole days without hearing "Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom." (think Stewie from Family Guy) It would be heaven on earth. In theory this does sound great gwendolyn, but I think the reality would be much different. Most of us are used to, and conditioned to, having others around. Most are used to having audio and visual input continuously throughout most all of our waking hours. To be totally deprived of any of this might be very hard on most people. I am an only child, and I thrive on being alone and having almost no noise in the room. This is heaven to me, so I understand what you mean about small children and their incessant noise and demands. I had a hard time getting used to the constant noise and activity of having children in the room when I got married and my children were small. I would have loved a... Most people probably would not do so well in such an environment, true enough. Maybe those of us who were the only child in the household would do better than those with siblings. My kids are teenagers, and even while they are constantly making fun of each other ("Your mom!" "Nun uh! Your mom!"), they have a hard time being away from each other. Of course, I didn't grow up with a tv in my room, or a computer in the house, or an iPod, or a Nintendo, or a cell phone, or the internet... not that I think having those things is bad necessarily. I think it can turn into a bad thing when a person forgets they are in control of what is to be paid attention to; that is to say that consumeris... this sounds sadistic to do that to people, they may have volunteered but what are the effects not to the mention the trauma they will go through, not worth it I say they could have just used an imaginary show how far will reality tv go to serve our need to be challenged |
