In response, diamond giant De Beers has set up a "Gem Defensive Programme" with the aim of finding ways to tell apart synthetic and natural diamonds.

i wonder if once they will become cheap, all their allure will dissipate, or not...

This is good news for the poor sods who are forced to dig the diamonds out at gun point (or risk having the limbs of their children hacked-off). Hope De Beers crashes

Yeah cakebelly I,v seen on clipmarks photos of child labour,good riddance to their cartel!! As soon as Argyle mine in Australia was found in north west they bought in big,, they might try and do same with producers of synthetics seems to be common strategy!
