You know, that sort of thing. Furthermore, Oklahoma is not exactly the land of opportunity and the people who live there could probably use a few more options for their "pursuit of happiness" programs. Dear "clip-on", I've always thought that common courtesy and respect work better for meaningful communication. Beats name-calling and sarcasm in that regard, one would think. Also, I've found that expressing contempt reveals a lot more about the originator's personality than it does about the object of their remarks. Religion - what a great and profitable business! And like any business, they lobby the government for funding. Oddly no one taxes them like one ... If we taxed them, we ALL would HAVE to listen to them, ALL the time. They're pushy enough as it is. I really don't think it would make a difference. They've already infected society to the point that they openly gain government compensation and special treatment even while that goes against the separation of church and state. Why continue to allow themselves the free ride and the ability to fatten themselves off the people? I recall reading a while back that something like one third of land ownership falls under religious organizations. I'll see if I can find that source... |
