I'm colorblind, unfortunately, so I guess just about *everyone* can differentiate color better than I can!

Interesting clip!

I wonder why, and why reds

thinking ...
red, fruit ... ripeness, blood ... meat, injury, danger
maybe better night sight, infra-red ?

figure there is a survival attribute here

There was a part of the article about the reds:
Previous
research in other primates has suggested that enhanced red vision in
females allows them to better distinguish between berries and foliage
when they are gathering food. Scientists speculate that this color
sensitivity may be explained by the fact that human females did the
gathering in prehistoric times.
@michellezm - I'm not sure what the cavemen were doing back in the day while their partners were out gathering food, but the extra color sensitivity seems to be well-deserved if this is the case!

Women have a better sense of smell too!

I didn't know that about smell. Of course there could be a down side to that, depending on the smell!

I wonder about absolute pitch; if it's more common in females or males? I read somewhere that only 1/10,000 have the ability to identify or sing a musical note without the benefit of a known reference.
