Senator Paul Wellstone should have had his donated after his untimely passing.

Their still are others who are worthy, Russ Feingold comes to mind, but otherwise......

Here's hoping Al Franken is elected to the Senate. I would pay anything to see that.

Indeed! It saddens me that the repubs have been so successful in demonizing the term "liberal". It is a position that has a fine history and should never have been so easily tossed away.

What is lost to many is that what is happening now in government is not just injurious to us today but has far reaching implicatons for the way our country functions. Our basic Constitutional principles are at issue.

If our country is going to be damaged by "terrorists" the damage is going to be from within, not from without.

The point made by these media outlets again and again is that the Democrats have little power to affect policy in Iraq because it would be difficult to pass legislation over a potential Republican filibuster, and even harder to pass a bill over a presidential veto. This sentiment is also voiced by many Democratic politicians, many of whom consider themselves opponents of the war.
