Well, they don't consider the fall of the Berlin Wall as anything but a defeat for what they believe in apparently.

This is exactly what I'd expect from Wash U. They've always been total leftists (unlike the folks a few miles away at Saint Louis U who accepted before they declined David Horowitz's speaking invitation).

WU is an institution to be served by the people of Saint Louis. They owned a lot of crumbling buildings in the downtown area, but no one would dare suggest blighting them because it would make the University and the Danforth family look bad. About eight years ago they grudgingly sold a few old warehouses. Within a couple years investors turned them into a hotel and loft apartments.

They even made the Post Office change all of the PO Box numbers in the entire city because it conflicted with "Campus Box" numbers.
