Is this one more milepost on the path of the turning away from science to the dumbing of society?

I think it is just a sign of the times. Astronomers are funded by grants mostly and when the grant money runs out or gets cut the program suffers.
I don't think it was an attack on Bolton, just a result of costs having to be cut.

If he felt he was wronged he would be mad not sad. He is sad because he understands why he was cut but there is nothing he can do to change it.

Lets just hope it is not a trend that is beginning.
