I just read this description of clipmarks by pokkets and literally got the chills. I believe one of the odd things about clipmarks is that it is very misunderstood by the general web population. Unfortunately, I think that is mostly a product of me being unable to properly explain it. So, when i see a description that so totally nails it, i get such a rush of excitement.

Hi Eric, my very personal theory on "why": I think this is because you guys launched the site way early in the game. The web2.0 was in it's infancy and there weren't any website which were ridiculously popular (popular as in general consumption) back in those days. Now this isn't a negative but I think the name Clipmarks and the very first feature of Clipmarks (clip instead of bookmark) made it just an annotation tool/site rather than one hec of a good community experience, or just one excellent browsing experience.

Mainstream News Sucks. It has more advertising, than a breakfast cereal has sugar. If I want to cheer up, I go to clipmarks. There seems to be a more optimistic attitude. The least I can do is help spread the optimism
