delete101 says: If we tap into our subcoscious and become "aware" of particular unhealthy behaviours and thoughts, for instance, we are able to "reframe" our thinking and personality and replace them with positive, productive thinking and behaviour. On a simple level, I've found that when I'm trying to remember something (a fact, crossword answers, or where I've hidden something from myself, etc), if I stop thinking about it, it'll come to me later. Works nearly every time. If the couscous mind would "overload" on all the information how does one explain people with perfect recall or photographic memory? As far as I know their brains seem to function just fine and they can actively recall minute details. I believe people with photographic memories are more conscious than most and, therefore, have more of an ability to draw out of their subconscious. We are a sum of our experiences, so if you delve into your subcounscious rigorously, you are able to understand why you act the way you do and why you are who you are. And I believe if you have a greater understanding of yourself, you can more easily access the subconscious. Links to memory, in general, can be through emotion or associations with other events. Memories can become garbled and the can be a state reached where the mind proceeds to dream while we are awake. As far as I know the condition only affects the memories of the episode, but resulting behavior can can cause critical changes in the course of conscious development. The chemical balance of the brain is changed until the need for sleep becomes important to restore the balance. The day can't be repacked, if the conscious is hanging around watching, offering suggestions, and taking up space, generally being a nuisance. So t... Great insight and discussion! This is a topic I've been dabbling in for the past year as it relates to "reframing" the mind to rid it of limiting beliefs that hold us back in our day to day activities. Social anxiety, being inconfident, fear of rejection or failure, neg, self image, etc. these can all be up-rooted and re-programmed through meditation by finding it's origins within the subconscious. Limiting beliefs and bad habits are usually assoc. with neg emotions and scarring from the past experiences. If you've ever had a moment where you've seen a woman that is amazingly gorgeous and think I can't talk to hear because she's out of my league or she'll reject me or whatever. These ... |
