I can say that I wouldn't have dared to dream to come out to my parents as bisexual. I completely put that thought out of my mind as a reality if I wanted to fit into the expectations that society had for me as a female in my generation, and that meant getting married and having a family. Now, don't get me wrong, I have a beautiful family who I love with all my heart and I am so very proud of.
But society makes being gay very, very difficult llasadgo. Gays cannot marry and they cannot serve in the military. Try holding hands with a same-sex partner in a restaurant and the reactions of some are disgust to verbal abuse and perhaps even violence. If we are going to grow as a society, we must...

Rejection in any form whether it is towards a gay child or a less favoured child is just wrong. Parents, especially a mother should love their children unconditionally.

I believe any rejection from your family is detrimental.

Wonder how many millions $$ it took them to figure this out.

Being gay and condemned by society AND your family would have to be utterly devastating.

The worst part is that most families are destroying their children out of love. Misguided love, but love nonetheless.
