It was acquired on March 5, 2007 by the MODIS on the Terra satellite. The Bo Hai shows a tremendous amount of sediment, which colors it nearly brown. The rivers of northeast China, particularly the Yellow River, all spill sediment into the Bo Hai. The Yellow River in particular carries dust from the Gobi Desert of Inner Mongolia down through the North China Plain, before pouring into the Bo Hai. </p> <P> Here is another view, from <A href="http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/view_rec.php?id=5903">October 2003</A> showing the sediment in the Bo Hai. The view from March 2007 does contrast from the October 2003 image - there is a great deal more snow on the ground in March!</P></blockquote></div><div style="margin: 0px 6px 6px 4px;"><table style="font-size: 11px;border-spacing: 0px;padding: 0px;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;"> </td><td align="right" style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;width:107px" width="107"><a href="http://clipmarks.com/share/537B1612-6D8D-42E6-BDA5-2B34511DED57/blog/" title="blog or email this clip"><img src="http://content7.clipmarks.com/images/c2b-foot.png" border="0" alt="blog it" width="107" height="17" style="border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;" /></a></td></tr></table></div></div>
