The victims of this war in iraq are far reaching, not just the dead, the dying, the maimed, the living victims who return mentally injured, who in turn, hurt their families.Supporting our troops is what you do for them when they return home regardless of your belief that the reason they went was crappy or not.

This was a great (if a bit long) article to read at the source. Very informative and balanced. So much is as yet unknown... As a sufferer of PTSD brought on by neither combat or rape (the sudden, and very unexpected death of my husband in '98), and having over a year go by before I all at once it seemed, "lost it", it is easy to see how these symptoms can stay buried while the person is in cobat, and then take their time to manifest. It's a difficult thing, and I fear our Veteran's admin is going to continue to be unprepared and overwhelmed as more and more living casualties of war appear.

I think I read somewhere, that one in four of the troops coming home is suffering from some sort of mental illness, most often PTSD. For a lot of the troops, they may be home, but the war will never be over for them. Not really. It's so terrible.

@Thorne
I'm so sorry for your loss Sweetie.
