There are at least 7 nations that have nukes and they haven't detered any terrorist yet. And besides, radioactive material goes missing every day and our borders are wide open to penetration by just about anyone who feels like walkin' in. What's Wrong With A Nuclear Iran?Nothing as far as I can see, however, I'm not that educated on the issue of nuclear power politics. No one, until recently, has applied to build nuclear reactors in the U.S. in 29 years. Is it really something that is still viable? Anyone have any input?Nuclear power in itself is not that great. The high level radioactive waste cannot simply be 'buried' or left unsecured. The power plants cost huge amounts to construct and huge amounts to decommision after they are used up. They usually (the BWR plants) have to be built near a water source, like major rivers, lakes or the coastal areas. If you add up all the costs, they are are really not that cost effective. Now Iran sits on huge resources of oil, but wants to generate electricity supposedly. The problem with their 'peaceful intentions' is that they don't need to enrich uranium to weapons grade to use it for nuclear power, but they ar... Thanks, Napster Comment pop for Napster. So if nuclear power is not efficient. Why is it that America has so many more nuclear war heads? When something is not usable. And nuclear war heads is far from usable. Why is it that we have the largest arsenal of bombs that can not be used. Due in principal that any nation that would use such a device. Would be looked down on by all other nations. My guess that would be the paranoia. And we have plenty of that now. Maybe you've been asleep for the past 45 years or so. It was (and still is) called "The Cold War". BOTH The U.S. AND Russia were bent on a policy of M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction), and just like potato chips, one wasn't enough. Both sides escalated and built up their arsenals to tragic proportions, with no end in sight. This is why the world doesn't NEED any further players at the nuclear weapons card table, the WORLD has far too many already. Oh if Russia is so much more 'civilized' than the U.S. why do THEY still have all their warheads, and have just built newer ones?
