a lot of kids use to fall through the net at being a "bit slow"...now there are more than ever criteria so that any child can be seen "slow" and hopefully a remedy put in place if appropriate (just like how my cousin dealt with her 3 yr old - whole family needed to accept the fact (big FACT!) and give time to help.

One of my grandkids is mildly autistic. Some problems but gets by ok at this stage. The obsession is animals . Six years old and he can tell you about any animal you name. Even any extinct ones he has come across.
