ericskiff says: Clipped from engadget's wwdc keynote coverage, apparently apple is going to release safari for windows? I don't know how I feel about this. We've already got firefox. I was just reading this at BBC and the first think I thought was "maybe EricS clipped this...." LOL Lol - good intuition, I was keeping up via engadget, waiting for the big "but there is one more thing" Kind of a weak showing in my opinion, but it's cool that ajax apps can integrate with the iPhone now, and safari on windows means webkit on windows which is actually huge news. I felt it was a bit weak too - especially Safari's "secret" features. Ya Hopefully Webkit on Windows will allow for sites that are more compliant with Safari now... Yeah, but Firefox is just fine for me. Clipmarks looks good on Safari. My housemate tried this last night and didn't like it at all. Perhaps it'll get better - it's only beta yet. Seems there's an active campaign out trying to discredit Safari on Windows? (looking at multiple stories at various blogs). Probably not arifsali, I myself had to deal with several bugs. First of all only half the UI is visible (There's no text for the menus or the bookmarks) and I can't type or even navigate anywhere else. Seems like Webkit on Windows is different from Webkit on Mac. I've been using it for a few days. I still like Firefox better. |
