Maybe the grander question behind this insight, is how did we get to this point of educational degradation? I think we took a variety of detours/distractions along the way, but some of the most pivitol errors rest in our growing willingness to desire safety over freedom, removing the affective domain out of our educational curriculums, accepting lowering of standards so as to equalize ourselves to the lowest common denominator of learning outcomes, accepting standardized testing as a valid indicator of learning, accepting that our differences have ascendancy over our sameness, allowing money/fame/position to define one as better than others, advocating tolerance over acceptance, and allowin...

I think we took a variety of detours/distractions along the way, but some of the most pivitol errors rest in our growing willingness to desire safety over freedom, removing the affective domain out of our educational curriculums, accepting lowering of standards so as to equalize ourselves to the lowest common denominator of learning outcomes, accepting standardized testing as a valid indicator of learning, accepting that our differences have ascendancy over our sameness, allowing money/fame/position to define one as better than others, advocating tolerance over acceptance, and allowing ourselves to be persuaded into believing that voting in the voucher system in not in our best interest. I'm sure there are other significant turns in the road which have harmed us, but for the moment these cry out for expression.

I'm working on the development of a replicatable educational system to do my part in returning our society to a sane educational system once again, or at least to give people who want such an option, a choice.
