To which, Senator Franken fired back quoting the Constitution. "Article 1 Section 8 of our Constitution gives Congress the right to spend money for the welfare of our citizens. Because of this, Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote, 'Congress may attach conditions on the receipt of federal funds and has repeatedly employed that power to further broad policy objectives,'" Franken said. "That is why Congress could pass laws cutting off highway funds to states that didn't raise their drinking age to 21. That's why this who I think ranken is going to surprise, not his detractors, but those people who weren't sure about him. I also think that he's going to exceed the expectations of his supporters. I said more than once when he was running: "Better a comedian than the clown he's running against". Is it just me, or are the majority of voters from the "Bible Belt" of the country. I would say, after a quick glance, that at least 90% are. Of course, ALL of them are Republitards (no surprise there!). Oh, and McCAIN of all people?!? So, it's ok to rape someone during wartime, but not to make them a POW. Hmmm, what they did to this woman was to make her a PRISONER. I would think that qualifies her as a POW. Maybe that's how they should try this case, instead, then maybe she'd get JUSTICE! |
