A simple search on Fitna will bring up numerous links to the film. Propaganda? Inflammatory?

I viewed the film and it made me wonder why more Muslims were not outraged by the violence committed by their fellow Muslims. If the majority of Muslims are peaceful, why haven't they risen up against the "tiny minority" and silenced them?

So you're an atheist because Hitler, Stalin and Mao were atheists? There must be a better reason than that? I least I hope you have a better reason than that. They weren't very nice to people IMO. But you can disagree though. I respect your opinion.

Geert Wilders is a very brave man, a real hero for our times.

He was raised Catholic, and is currently atheist, yes, but---he believes strongly in defending what he calls "Judeo-Christian" values.

Can I assume you're a fundamentalist Christian? I have no way of knowing this except for your sophomoric argument which I've found mostly among fundamentalists. Actually Hitler was a Catholic, albeit with some other strange metaphysical ideology thrown in. Stalin and Mao were both despots who murdered people for political reasons.

Typical right wing logic.

All communists are Democrats and all Democrats are communists, but not all catholics are catholics.

Sorry Antara you guys cant' have it both ways.

Hence the "no true Scotsman" inference.

Hitler was born Catholic just as Stalin was born into the Russian
Orthodox Church and Mao was raised as a Buddhist. These facts prove
nothing as many people reject their religious upbringing, as these
three men did. From an early age, historian Allan Bullock writes,
Hitler "had no time at all for Catholic teaching, regarding it as a
religion fit only for slaves and detesting its ethics."

I didn't realize you two needed so scrape the bottom of the barrel so desperately, lol.

He might have been born "Catholic", but so were many atheists!

He was never an atheist, the Nazi philosophy was pure propaganda mixing and matching all manner of Cristian and Pagan symbols.

Also many a fascist goverment has had close links with the Catholic church among them the fascist governments of Spain, Argentina and Chile.

You can debate this guy if you want but be warned that he's getting his info from The World Nut's own Dinesh D'Souza. The headline today from the WND is "Obama science czar Holdren called for forced abortions"!

Ignore him and he'll find his rock to slink back under.

Thanks for the heads up. Anyone who thinks D'Souza is a credible source doesn't know one when he sees one.

Obama science czar Holdren called for forced abortions
He did! are you claiming he didn't?????????????

Anyways, Dinesh is hardly the only one with that view.

Sorry, Hitler wasn't a Catholic except by birth--and as I said--this is true of many current atheists ( I was not saying Hitler was necessarily atheist)

It really doesn't matter, the point is I am surprised that at this stage that this stupid claim keeps being dragged out.

Pretty desperate.

The quote in question was taken from a book he co-authored 32 years ago when the world was in the grips of a near panic concerning over population. He was speculating what could occur in a worst case scenario if population estimates at the time came to fruition.

As am I!

Facts
1. Adolf Hitler was raised and baptized as a Roman Catholic in the midst of a Catholic family. He also served as an alter boy in the Catholic church.

2. Hitler wrote in his book, Mein Kampf: “. . . I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lord’s work.” He made essentially the same claim in a speech before the Reichstag in 1938.

3. In 1941 Hitler told Gerhard Engel, one of his generals: “I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so.” In fact, Hitler was never excommunicated from the Catholic Church, and Mein Kampf was not placed on the Church’s Index of Forbidden Books. Yes, the Catholic church supported the Nazi ...

PS: It is mentioned that Hitler was Catholic as a child. At what point (given his atrocities) did the Catholic church excommunicate him?
