I mean, are you kidding me!? Rachel Ray and Dunkin Donuts were offering "symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism" because she was wearing a black and white scarf. After this one, it's going to take a whole to shock me

Honestly, i just tagged this clip dunkin donuts, rachel ray and terrorism - WTF indeed!!

Political Correctness (insanity) has run into the ditch!

This is widely (and wildly) disseminated ordinary paranoia.

It was probably the costumer's liberal slant coming out.

"liberal slant" it was Michelle Malkin that went all ape$!%# on this. Besides, it is a freaking scarf, how is that political or religious in anyway. IT IS A CRAPPY SCARF!

You got to living deep inside the Kool-Aid cooler to believe that this means something, anything....

Usually, it's the Right Wingnuts that are accusing the Loony Lefties of being too PC. Now it's their turn.

I don't suppose anyone noticed that Ms. Ray's scarf is paisley, while most keffis are checked?
5-29-2008 10:03 PM
Jorjor
That should have been "keffiyeh", and that they mostly have grid patterns..

Michelle Malkin would have to upgrade in order to qualify as an ordinary garden variety imbecile.

I'm glad she wore something beyond the scarf - or that may be misconstrued as an insult to the Amazons?!

I saw this on THE VIEW the other day. Unbelievable.

Is anyone really saying anything bad about it. All I hear are the ones after the fact.

lolz not one comment said WTF.

let me be the first WTF.

Rachel Ray equals Islamic terrorist sympathiser at night, but usually depicted as a day-time talk-show host

Nobody is saying anything because DD yanked the commercial. They caved on this stupidity!

WTF, WTF, WTF! Michelle Malkin (a regular on Bill O'UnRuly's show on Faux news) should be...what...muzzled and sterilized?...Just read ONE of her columns and you'll be ill for a week... and tho I joke, I gotta say she (Malkin, not R. Ray) is one of the most despicable, vicious, outta control right wingers out there in 'Murrika. How does she even keep a job? Amazingly stupid attack for wearin' a scarf (!) and Dunkin' Donuts deserves to be boycotted for listening to her.

Sillysam--are you a real person or just a caricature of a dumbass right wing dupe? Your comments are some of the stupidest sh*t I've ever heard. Did you go to school, ever? Or just get raised on corn and Righty propaganda?

The only "terrorism" committed here is in the fashion sense. That's one ratty scarf.

Goodness gosh, humans have enough problems already — why invent new ones to cause more strife and burdens? That's dumb.

This clip should have a "WTF" tag too.

Haha. Oh it's not funny... sad really.
I can't help it I have to say WTF

Maybe the reference was to "scarfing down a donut".

Wait a second... Dunkin Donuts is trying to make a profit - that's about it. They pulled it because they were afraid that enough customers wouldn't like it.

Companies make decisions like this all the time. They figured they would make more money by NOT advertising someone in a "Muslim looking sort of scarf."

How many commercials does AXE cologne run featuring fat women? Same principle.

Get over it, lefty babies.

"Same principle"

Translation: without principles

Oh man, the fact that this was completely manufactured in the first place or that people might be offended by a "Muslim looking scarf" shows how stupid the whole thing is. But then again, that kool-aid is mighty ain't it babe....

And that scarf pattern is offensive to alot of people. It may have been an unfortunate fashion choice but it doesn't make it less offensive. If you showed up at a pajama party wearing a white pointy hood it may be completely innocent but it would probably offend many people.
6-5-2008 10:28 PM
Yassin_M
Seriously; it is a normal men head and/or neck cover (scarf) which is commonly used in middle east. It has neither political nor religion meaning. it can be white, black and white or red and white.

If wearing this scarf is offending, only because there is uncertain doubt . Don't we think that the carton of the Muslims prophet is more offending to 1.5 Million Muslins around the glop ??!!

LET US PREACH LOVE AND FORGET HATRED.
6-6-2008 11:26 AM
wiccantexan
sillysam, I didn't even know the pattern had any sort of meaning at all until the hullabaloo. Your white pointy hood example, on the other hand, would be immediately obvious.

sillysam, you are really out there, aren't you. First of all, all Muslims are not racists -- can you say the same for the KKK? And I would have no problem if it had actually been a Muslim woman in the ad -- don't Muslims eat donuts, too?

oh give me a break! it's just a pretty scarf and who IS rachel ray?
