Djiezes says: Thank you Clipmarks, for letting me point to this. It should promote a mutual contemplation. Looky there: M. Tomasello: Why Don't Apes Point?" Pollick & De Waal: Ape gestures and language evolution interesting 10x for interesting clip may we say that pointing - lies somewhat at the beginning of sharing an experience with other than me (bring about closeness & intimacy) And also - pointing that which is other than me (may bring about distance, separateness & identifying `the other`as an enemy of `me`) ... I think counting and time had a lot to do with the development of language. When you are pointing to more buffalo than your hands, and feet , and to the way the moon ,the sun, and the stars, and the tides, change by season, where memory of climate past can allow preparations for future, and the ability to describe a scene, which will exist through natural cycle with the association of specific names, and descriptions, can make reasons for preparations clear.. I'm sure one of the key elements of development was impatience, and need for verification. of the things an expanding cerebellum opened our eyes to. Speculation of course, but most pictures have more colours than you can see. |
