Interestingly, the comments after the article mainly blame someone other than themselves for the bad opinions of christianity held by youth. If an individual person were to blame others for their own bad reputation and not their own actions, then they would be deemed psychotic. I think this applies to groups, like churches, as well. Bad opinions about christianity is always the fault of Satan, or Public Schools, or Harry Potter, but never about how they themselves are behaving.

Ok, how do I pop a comment? These are all excellent points. Personal responsibility has seemed to go out the window, as it were, along with personal beliefs. I blame the media

Christians
Churchians
Godians

my point is there is a huge difference

imho the message of Jesus can be summed up in the passages Luke 10:25-37 (The Good Samaritan)

it really is that simple - love everyone

btw I'm not a Christian, Churchian or Godian

footnote ... (imho)
Christians
- people that follow Jesus (Christ)
- a true Christian follows the true teaching of Jesus (Christ)

Churchians
- people that follow the Church
- imho a messed up view of something that may have a little to do with Christ
- imho now-a-days more to do with the Church gaining power and money

Godians
- people that follow God
- eg Jews

I've always felt that if Jesus had foreseen just what all would be done "in his name", he would have shut his mouth and lived a long, healthy life in Nazareth. Spiritualism can be a good and healthy thing; established religions are very rarely so.

I stumble on the words "No Longer" in the title of this clip.
  • Can anybody tell me when this cut happened?
Up to what point (or era) did Christianity "look like Jesus"?
From what point (or era) on has Christianity developed to be "judgmental, hypocritical, too political, old-fashioned and out of touch with reality"?
  • Why are the terms Christianity and Christendom usually mixed up? (Is there a hidden intention in confusing these terms?)
  • By which means are the results of public opinion polls supposed to detect the essence of anything?
