I still sing those songs with my daughter. Singing In The Rain was really great but I don't know if I would name it the best. West Side Story, Cabaret and Funny Girl are among my favorites. As for the performers, Liza Minelli and Barbra Streisand are unforgettable. Oh... I almost forgot Fiddler on the Roof. Oooh, Fiddler on the Roof has some great songs! Yeah. Like Tevye's famous song: If I were a rich man,Fiddler on the Roof wasn't even in the "left out" list. Strange. I like Singin' in the Rain too along with Cabaret and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, but I think West Side Story is pompous and suffers from some pretty bad acting. And I agree with the West Side Story dance stuff...waaay too much of it... Gene Kelly is my all time favorite dancer and Singing in the Rain is my all time favorite movie. When I lived in California, one weekend I took a trip to Reno and the hotel I stayed in had pictures of Gene on the walls. I was in heaven... got to sleep with Gene! LOL West Side Story, in my opinion was a good movie in its time. I tried watching it not long ago, on television and I couldn't stand it. What I thought was a good movie when I saw it "back then," just did not have the same impact for me now.
