enbar says: Disturbing story. A schizophrenic woman in a wheelchair calls 911 because she believes she's in danger. When cops arrive, she's swinging a hammer and a knife around. They tase her ten times in two minutes, and she dies within an hour. What I find very strange is this. In April 2006, officers with the police department said they were called to a disturbance at a home in the 400 block of Harrison Street just before 5 p.m. And we are hearing about this now. What other misdeeds by police are being withheld . I know about the Veteran who died at the peace rally because of the DC cops. Yet I have seen no report of it on media news. Are we being trained to except any action from the police, as being just. We are heading in the same direction as pre world war Germany. Actually I didn't notice the date when I clipped this. What a sad end for a tormented woman and for her family. I wonder why police aren't getting more education on how to subdue individuals with as little brute force as possible. Also, any police officer who is handed a taser gun should be tasered with it several times. Then she/he will realize exactly what the seemingly benign weapon is doing to another human being. MAYBE THEN, JUST MAYBE, THEY WILL USE IT ONLY AS A LAST RESORT! (although, I think there should be some serious debate whether these weapons should be given to police forces in the first place) SEE A FEW STARTLING STATISTICS BELOW: ``` They've been touted as the safety weapon of choice.
