After the violent start all I hope is the games conclude peacefully...after all it is meant to be the harbinger of peace. A fact most importantly, most seem to have forgotten!

Which Olympic Games did really answer the expectations of being the "harbinger of peace"? Does anybody need a reminder of the Olympic Games of Berlin, 1936? The Nazis' preparation of the war, which they started three years later, was in full swing, and tens of thousands of German citizens were unable to enjoy the games because they were disenfranchised, locked up in concentration camps, murdered or coerced to emigrate.
