masbury says: "It was an attempt to move beyond force, beyond the denunciation of those who are just as committed to resolving problems as we are without making outlaws of those for whom the issue cannot wait for long-term answers." Thank you so much for this clip Mas. I have read many books by Sister Chittister and I admire and respect her greatly. It was about lots of Catholic things -- if Catholics will only remember them.Have you ever noticed that the people who are most vocal about "defending" their faith are the same people who least exemplify the basics of that same faith (WIlliam Donohue comes to mind where the Catholics are concerned)? Meanwhile, people like Sister Chittister, are much better exemplars; it makes me think of the old saw, "They also serve...", though I would put a different ending on it. Sometimes the squeaky wheel doesn't need grease - it needs to be replaced with a wheel that does the job. I think Sister Chittister is a fine example of moral courage. Jesus would be pleased. Good clip, mas. The MSM focused on the more contentious issue of abortion rather relaying the positive aspects of the speech. Thanks for reminding us. Thank you. |
