I've read about 12 of these....you want to know about boring? try reading war & peace.....I found moby dick boring too, never managed to go beyond the first few pages....

I've read 18 of those listed. I didn't like the Scarlet Letter much. I was much younger when I read it and there were too many poly-syllabic words to read.

I read Moby Dick for a book report in the 7th grade. I think I was the only one who read a book that was over 100 pages and had no pictures in it.

I've read 17 of the books, some of which I actually enjoyed, but I don't think a person should feel guilty about not pursuing the reading list of a literary snob. If you think the book is important, that's one thing. If you're reading it to make someone else (whom you probably don't know and will never meet) happy, why bother?
