Where are the outraged libs? I think they made quite a fuss about a turkey if I remember correctly.

Well, duh. He's a politician.

Hmmm, I don't recall any previous administration screening attendees by who they voted for and handing out cameras.

I'm sure you could find plenty of similar instances in previous administrations. Now whether or not the media decided to highlight them is another story.

Then find one. I have never heard of any such case and know for sure it didn't happen when we were visited during Desert Shield by president Bush. Using the "I'm sure they all do it" defense without even one other example is pretty weak.

You mean the previous administration did not go out of it's way to have pictures taken with soldiers at every oportunity?

Or carefully craft and pre-screen questions in so called "impromptu" video conference?

Or land on aircraft carriers in flight suits with banners hanging over them saying "Mission Accomplished" only to blame the sailors and airmen for the banner when the photo-op went south?

Yes, this was stage, which is wrong, but phony outrage from phony critics doesn't do this justice. And boy their seems to be both a lot of people that voted for Obama and seem really happy to see him.

Oh and cheered when he said they were going home. I saw that speech too.

Show me another president who pre-screened military personnel allowed to meet him based on who they voted for. Show me another president who handed out gifts to those same people.

Another interesting question is did those soldiers get to keep those cameras?

I do you one better, Bush pre-screened personnel who would run a foreign country based on whether or not they believed in abortion or other party based planks and not their skills levels.

And the party of loyalty oaths is hardly in a position to call the kettle black.

Like I said, if true (and considering the source that is a BIG if) then it is wrong. But really, is anyone buying the phony indignation bit? Besides you that is....

Okay, I'll go you even one better. Take all of these situations where you believe Bush was staging a photo op and tell us, what was your reaction when you found out?

I don't believe them, I saw them, their on TV and guess what I didn't like them. Just like I don't like them now. Nothing has changed. You would have noticed that if you read my responses.

I have read your responses. You use any excuse at all to attack Bush, and you are here defending Obama for doing the same things you used to accuse Bush of and criticize him for doing.

Wrong.

When Obama stepped the line on extending the "state's secrets" defense, I call him on it.

When he switched from Guantanamo to Bagram airbase to continue denying prisoners their habeas corpus rights I called him on it.

And when he continued to push neoliberal economic solutions to the economic crisis and backing the very same hacks that created the problem in the first place, I called him on it.

Real problems, with real facts behind them. Not paranoid fantasies about "socialism" or "fascism" or "One World Government" or bowing to the Saudi king.

So sorry to disappoint, but please don't lie about what I do or don't do.

Just three quick examples:

Panetta Announces Closure of CIA Secret Prisons

Professor Turley on Obama: "a breathtaking expansion of sovereign immunity"

Administration Seeks an Out On Bailout Rules for Firms

But guess what, I haven't heard a peep from the right side of the column here on clipmarks on any of this, except to cheer these things on.
