The cars are not 'Patented'. It really comes down to illegal copying and outright forgery. GM, Ford and Chrysler have also been at odds with China for quite a few years now over blackmarket parts sold as "original' equipment- complete with fake Ford, GM and Daimier Chrylser logo's on the parts. It all comes down to China not respecting the hard work of others who have gone before them, and the Chineese government turning a blind eye on the illegal activites.
