Thorne says: Right. Because it should be okay for church groups to discriminate against hiring fags. This is insane. Chipping away at the so-called wall of separation... Well said, Thorne! I've been saying for some time that it's not religious discrimination that Christians fear. It's losing their privileged status. They resent being treated equally. Too bad! Or maybe it's because religious groups want to hire people who actually understand their religion rather than somebody who has no idea what their beliefs are. If they want to restrict hires for any reason, including understanding of the religion, then they should not be accepting taxpayer dollars to accomplish the mission. That's the real point here. Affirmative Action crdz9802, that's like saying that as a pagan lesbian business owner, I should be able to discriminate against christians and straights. Any person willing to teach/uphold the curriculum should not be discriminated against. n2sooners, There is a HUGE difference between affirmative action and anti-discrimination. Affirmative action was enacted to try (unsuccessfully, and ultimately unfairly) to help uphold anti discrimination legislation. I am Pro anti discrimination, but against affirmative action. |
