This callous disregard for humanity in the name of the state is abominable. Sure the U.S. cannot legally stop it, but to negotiate with these nations gives them a legitimacy they don’t deserve. And to do it all in the name of furthering our own economic well-being puts the U.S. on the same immoral footing.

Agree dis...and why all the polite diplomatic talk. Can someone call a spade a spade, some straight talk? How about throwing more light on the evil & degradation that these people have to endure? How about some accountability for the UN considering all the $$$ they get from us taxpayers to be anti-American and often part of the problems..particularly in Africa?

Course it doesn't help our image across the world when we tolerate criminals and corruption in our politics.

Well you can press on human rights issues in say Russia and China...it would make no difference...why? Because they are fucking scumbags on the world stage. There are countries so far gone..that its a waste of time talking to them at all.
