This only states that 6000 plus veterans have commited suicide, but does not state that they served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Any info on specifics here. It 6,000 were from this conflict alone, I am terrified.for the future.

Some of these may have been Veterans from previous campaigns..

I know that to date recognized but kept quite over 160,000 Vietnam Vets have committed suicide and that figure was from a number of years ago..

Brokaw's latest book and interviews leaves out all those who served in Vietnam and committed suicide conveniently..

There are other articles on this, Clips I posted here as well follow those links if you like..

The raw numbers are meaningless, but they sure do look impressive and drive the right political message for the anti-war types. Fact is, the suicide RATES of former war veterans (Desert Storm and Vietnam) are on par with rates for civilians in the same demographics. The active duty Army actually had lower suicide rates last year than civilians with the same demographics.

But hey, if we just throw some raw numbers out there and then call it an epidemic, then it furthers our political agenda and that's all that really counts anyway.

The Congress has been discussing the urgency and seriousness of this suicide epidemic of these Veterans..

Despite N2's great vast expertise and callous disregard for these hurting veterans..
