Follow the money! The thing that really excites me about this move is it seems to have come about as a result of shareholder pressure. The people want new, clean, renewable sources of energy and via their wallets and their votes they are going to get it!!!

The average person is not stupid. People want cheap energy and the majority are not swayed by alarmist propaganda.

The move comes amid growing dissent by shareholders upset that Exxon
Mobil doesn't earmark more of its billions for researching forms of
alternative energy.
Really? And how are they expressing their disapproval? Would they continue to be shareholders if the company gambles and loses? How long would they hang in?

Follow the money indeed!

Well, as it turns out, this whole fiasco was caused by the Rockefeller family. It was not caused by the majority stockholders ( being the "little people") . The "little people" would have been soaked in fine, Enron-esque fashion.

However, in this case the "little people" won and the corporate totalitarians lost.
You green fascists and corporate totalitarians make strange bedfellows.
