But aren't you supposed to call first before you plan a visit to your relatives- or in my case in-laws or is it okay to just show up? I'd say it depends on the relationship. For some it's probably fine, but unless I'm 100% certain it won't be a problem I call 1st. Nowadays, though, I almost resort to calling just to make sure they'll be home! Yes, they should call first. Who knows what one may be up to? I would say call first, it is more polite and may save someone from being embarrassed if they are disheveled, or in the middle of cleaning...or something... I call first, 10 years ago I would say depending on the circumstances you could drop by if you were in the neighborhood. But now with cell phones, even if you are outside their house, call first and ask if it is an ok time to stop by. The answer is YES. |
