bignosemousie says: Check the source for ways to help end modern day slavery. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Martin Luther King Jr., It's a matter of semantics. There are slaves as seen under the dictionary definition, where ther work for no money, for an owner, but more people are 'owned' than would care to admit. Slaves are generally entitled to food and lodging supplied by their owners, but people today can 'work freely' and yet hardly manage to maintain a living. And being 'Owned'? Try telling them to get a better job if they don't like the one they have, and consider what their prospects really are. If they can find another job it can be like being sold from one owner to another. Most employers today will demand they be top priority in the lives of their workers, and will achieve this either through emotional, or act... if we know this is happening, why hasn't anybody done anything to stop it ? for n e one that considers a job or employment a form of slavery: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/07/10-reasons-you-should-never-get-a-job/ if we know this is happening, why hasn't anybody done anything to stop it ?A great deal is being done every day, but the enslavers are exceedingly powerful. Consider the case of Bridgestone-Firestone. Thanks for the link, Masbury. I didn't know about this. |
