i actually have an aversion against Knut. Well, not strictly against the bear himself but the ridiculous extent to which he was marketed here in Berlin. And now that people no longer coo over him he's vanished from everyone's mind, replaced by other "cute" objects of mass affection.

While no longer cuddly, he remains a beautiful creature; as beautiful as any on the face of the earth in my eye. There is a majesty to a polar bear which is beyond compare.
