If you find a story about this happening with a mouse let me know. I know there must be more reasons why I'm so terrified of them.

"Even if a Samurai's head were to be suddenly cut off, he should still be able to perform one more action with certainty. If one becomes like a revengeful ghost and shows great determination, though his head is cut off, he should not die." Snakes are kick ass!

Just like those that go deer hunting and think the animal is dead because it dropped from their shot. Only to have it kick up and take them for a ride on it's antlers.

Hawkeye I don't think you'd hate snakes if you understood them. Do you know American Indians never get bitten by snakes? It's because of the respect they have for them. If they cross each others path, the indian will stop & let the snake proceed & they go their seperate ways.

Ain't that a lesson for respecting other living things?

Had a similar experience 20 years ago that gave me the creeps.
My son was on a scooter in the driveway. I looked up at him 30 yards away and saw a 3 foot Copperhead crossing the drive 10 feet in front of him. I hollered stop and he stopped 2 ft short of the snake and didn't move. I dropped a pipe on it then cut it's head off and dug a hole and buried it immediately. I picked up the body with a shovel and tossed it aside in the woods. Freaky part was I went back about 20-30 minutes later and touched the tail with the shovel and the headless body struck and then went limp.
I got spooked by snakes early in life and have never gotten over it. I only kill the poisonous ones though.
Cheers
Bob

TheBluesLady, perhaps the indians stopped because they were scared to hell of the snake, so let him pass before they went there seperate ways?

That is soooo freaky, man
It'd be cool if there was a video illustrating it!
