Oh, clearly a snowfall that lasts a few minutes indicates a serious flaw in a theory that spans decades and even centuries. Thank goodness for a statistical anomaly. I almost had to think about something other than myself! This is why the term "anthropogenic climate change" is clearer than "global warming". The climate shifts that come from adding energy to the system will not mean every temperature on earth will rise 0.6 degrees; they include a big increase in variability, more storms, etc. as the higher energy means greater wind currents, more evaporation, etc. In fact, to a statistician, the fact that longstanding records are suddenly being broken is itself significant, whether they are for high temperature, low temperature, snowfall, lack of snowfall, etc. Even to the layman, it should be obvious that in a stable climate, there should be many record broken every year. I meant it should be obvious that in a stable climate, there shouldn't be many records broken every year. Sheesh Funny how the natural climate change deniers jump all over you when you suggest that cold temperatures might mean global warming isn't happening, but they are all over every warm trend, hurricane, tornado, thunderstorm, or any other weather event trying to claim it as proof of man made global warming. Of course, the best part of these stories is watching them have a melt down. So true. |
