George W. Bush was literally strong armed into signing legislation while he was governor of Texas that protected poor kids from going without health care. Now that he is president, he is trying to prevent helping poor kids on a national level. Has this man no shame?!?

Since when is the government supposed to provide insurance for it's citizens?

At no time in the past, but its is meant to provide health and basic services. And these are children after all, this gives them a chance to grow and become productive members of society, which means everybody benefits. Perhaps the time has come. The phrase, as we so often reminded by the scaremongers in Congress and the right-wing media machine starts with "LIFE, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness".

Why is it then that you can spend billions of dollars in the wrong war, providing hospitals and services for total strangers but not for your own citizenry?

I live in Texas, and did so when Bush was governor too. The irony is, that when he was governor here, he was known for getting the Dem.s and Rep.s to work together on the issues. Bipartisanship and negotiation was his strength. My how things change. Negotiate? What's that?

I have always felt there was something fishy about the whole Bush quest for the presidency, which of course, was successful.

The neo-cons who brought us the war in Iraq had proposed their Project for the New American Century during the poppa Bush administration. They couldn't see it to him. The refined it and try to sell it to Clinton who was also not buying their sick idea. Then along comes Dubya.

Now of course, no one knew that the events of 9/11/01 were in the works, but there are many indications that the Bush administration was hot on going after Saddam. Suddenly, after 9/11 the wheels start turning, and after invading (rightfully, in my opinion) Afghanistan, we get sold a bill of...
