They just spent $18 million on redesigning that government website that BTW was paid for by us. I'm pretty sure some savvy tech guys could design a site for posting those bills (that they don't read) for less than $5,000. An excellent idea but it will never happen. The bills are rushed through so congress doesn't have time to read them, but they vote anyway because there is an atmosphere of, if you vote for my bill I will vote for yours going on, and there has been for a long long time. Maybe we simply expect too much from the people we elect to office, maybe it is too much to expect them to 'do the right thing'. We have been conditioned over the years to accept the fact that congress always operates on bribes and kickbacks, they seemingly never do 'what is right'. Why should we be surprised when any project the government becomes involved in results in skyrocketing costs, delays, kickbacks, theft and mismanagement? Truth be known, most likely 75% of them all (past and present) should be behind bars for the theft and squandering of taxpayer funds. Congress has always felt the taxpayer to be insignificant and simply too ignorant to realize the truth or facts behind all ... |
