Thank you for that link Laceym. It addresses what I believe is one of the most horrific theologies-- substitutionary atonement-- meaning that all of us were or are responsible for the death of Jesus and Jesus had to experience all of this horror because of us. God can spare us because Jesus is the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. It completely ignores the central message in the life of Jesus which is compassion and love and the social form of compassion which is justice.

I'm much more jaded. I seem them dressed in the garb of religion to disguise their need to satisfy their inner lust for power and to sate their greed.

Well, I guess we can't all be "compassionate" like you!

This article is addressing the Christian Right and the fact that religious conservatives painted supporting the President as a contest between those who believe in Jesus and those who don't. Unless you agree with conservatives on war, giving all the wealth to those who need it the least, gays, and abortion, you are going straight to hell. I've said it before and I'll say it again: What I want to know is this: Who died and gave this gang divine authority to define what's moral and what's not? It certainly wasn't Jesus Christ.

No matter what they say its all relative.
Focus on infinity.
God is within.
Believe in yourself.
Everything will be o.k.
