Makes sense - by banning ALL non-secular music, the school is ensuring that all religious beliefs (including atheisim) are being treated equally. I'm sure many will be all up in arms about it, but it's one of the only 2 ways to ensure that things are settled fairly, and the other way to do it would be to make sure each religion had a song representing it in the ceremony - which would make for a pretty long ceremony, I would imagine, and would offend a *lot* more people than banning all religious-themed music. The decision had the interest of all people in mind rather than opening the door to other religious demands and starting a huge theology issue. The only thing warped here is your skewed sense of persecution. And mainstream R & R god songs, while not my own personal choice, are quite acceptable in the ma... Well said Oortcloud! |
