I don't think I could do all those things?!?! And if I tried i'd probably just feel like i was going crazy. I think that kind of thing only works for geniuses. Actually numbers 4, 5, and 6 are used extensively in teaching new product development Marketing courses at Universities. We an all do it if we just practice it. Those are all just exercises in logic, nothing more. Or at least to me they are. How are you supposed to know if it's working? I don't know anyone who really claims to understand either general or special relativity, and certainly not from reading Einstein's own words. Einstein didn't make the theory of relativity easy to understand, it was always something he felt was incomplete, but he gave something that had not been imagined by anyone else form, and it is to his credit that even the most fundamental aspects of relativity could be understood by anyone but himself. To me the mark of genius is being able to explain something fairly complex to a rather dim 5th grader. That's my wife's job description, and she uses (and teaches) all these techniques to allow Learning Disabled and outright retarded kids use the brains they have more effectively. And, yes, it works. Raw IQ alone is not enough. |
