Many congregations today are beingEven worse, it seems to me that some apply a subjective lens that pulls in favor of one's own political and social views. They are those that seem to find hope in the world and posses love of the world. They love the world, society, ideology - not people. I am reminded of 1 John 2:15-16 - Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the father is not in him. For every thing that belongs to the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and pride in one... I am all for a wonderful worship experience but I am convinced that to really worship God we need to get off of our blessed assurances and GO YE into the world and reach out to those who are in desperate need of salvation. Christians aren't satisfied fighting against the muslims and other religions they (by congregation) are fighting each other. There is one church near where I live that the fighting got so bad, The ministers daughter punched out a Sunday school teacher, members of the congregation come out of church yelling at and threatening each other. The church is now in the process of losing its status or whatever it's called and they will be closed. I know of another church where the violence is absent but there is so much dissent between the parishoners they'll close too. tanyamm wroteSo much for brotherly love eh? |
