You do have a choice, you just don't act on it.

Iridology - The study of the iris of the eye, especially as associated with disease. Your Iris changes with your health.
This idea is flawed from the start

You won't REALLY have a choice. Not if you ever travel, want to work, want healthcare etc... just wait.

I have already been fingerprinted and eye-scanned at the airport. I was not asked. I was just pushed forward and there you have it. I wonder what would have happened if I had resisted? To be honest, I didn't have the balls to say no. The US "justice system" scares the hell out me and besides, I forgot to pack my orange gitmo outfit.

I mean the choice to change things, if millions of people complained hard enough, even governments must listen. A government will bring about small changes that it knows people will accept in the name of national security. Taking away too much liberty and freedom would get the government thrown out, so they do just as much as they can get away with. Next thing you know, you've lost the lot.
So the trick is to educate people as to what is going on so everyone can act whilst there is still time. A good start would be to vote in a decent president at the next election.
I think many Americans realize they've been lied to for several years now. No real threats to national security means no need to take away peoples rights.

vk2yoc, they attempt those things in some third world countries...say like Pakistan. Here in the US of A, you either carry your gittmo suit with you when you travel (as mentioned above) or you go have a merry vacation.

I was only visiting America, vk2yoc and I didn't know. It was too late once I found myself at an American airport with "security" saying

"DO THIS, DO THAT, OR ELSE... "

What can you do? I was travelling alone, far from home, a girl and scared out of my mind by the aggressiveness of it all. It's too late now, but if I had known, I never would have gone. They were really mean. What a welcome.

I love all my funky American friends though! You know who you are! *LOL* Cheers!!

identify individuals in the United States and abroad.
This is what it's about. Where ever you are in the world, via BushCo and the MCA 2006 etc, "they" own your arse if they want it. Extraordinary rendition, secret prisons, black sites, Gitmo... no one is safe. The mighty arm of US fascism has loooong reaching arms and many friends. (Blair, Fogh-Rasmussen, Howard, etc) Just look at all the ally nations and the measures they too are setting in place because of Bush's stupid "War on Terror". We're ALL in the same boat. Biometric profiling will only spread. Be sure of it.

We just got rid of Howard because he was going down the American path. I won't give up on OZ yet, too early yet to see which way the new bloke will jump. A lot of changes coming that we'll all have to put up with.

TN somehow I thought you were a Yank, my apologies, I've been wrong before and no doubt will be again.
One of my Ham Radio friends moved from Aus to Texas, married an American! Damnedest thing. He told me all about getting into the country, I wouldn't go there, he's quite happy though.

One can only believe that in the end, the good guys will win.
